Cairo is a very old city, over 1,000 years old. It’s full of fragments and marks from every era; Fatimid, Mamluk, Ottoman, you name it. Each left behind monuments that form the city’s many layers of art and history. But over time, these monuments faded away, leaving behind only fragments.
For this sweatshirt, we imagined that there was once a long inscription in one of the monuments in the Old City. And over the years, all of it fell to pieces and only two tiles remained, unexpectedly spelling “Cairo”.
This is a tribute to the city where every fragment has meaning, and every layer tells a part of the whole.
Care & Maintenance
To maintain the beauty of this crewneck and the art on it, we recommend treating it with care.
Wash it gently, inside out, at 30 degrees. If the puff print calligraphy has any tarnishes or smudge marks, clean it very gently with a soft toothbrush or wet cloth and little detergent. Make sure you don't use any bleach.
